Matthew Bridges

Matthew has worked as a commercial lawyer for 25 years and has broad private practice and inhouse experience in a range of areas of practice including mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions and contracts and corporate advisory work. He commenced his career as an articled clerk in Hamilton, Western Victoria and has since mainly worked in Melbourne including a 15 year stint with a leading independent national firm. Matthew supports a variety of clients including ASX-listed entities, large private companies and family groups and SMEs involved in a range of pursuits including manufacturing, agribusiness, sports and entertainment, FMCG, financial services, hospitality, publishing, ecotourism and education. He has maintained an active involvement in community and pro bono work throughout his career.

Matthew’s weekends are all about supporting his kids’ sporting pursuits. He enjoys music, fishing and golf. He is a lifelong supporter of the Geelong Cats and follows the Melbourne Storm.
Matthew is a director of Wildlife Wonders Ltd. He is a member of the advisory board of the Conservation Ecology Centre. He is a former director of The Geelong College (2018-21).
